Along with having a stellar sales year in the USA, Audi also is picking up its share of awards and accolades from the automotive industry. Automobile Magazine recently named the Audi TT RS as the recipient of its 2012 All-Star award. The award will be presented to the automaker at the Los Angeles Auto Show next week.
"We're proud to be recognized by Automobile Magazine as an All-Star," said Johan de Nysschen, president, Audi of America. "The Audi TT RS stands as the pinnacle of the TT model line and represents the highest performance category for Audi vehicles."
Powered by a 2.5-liter, turbocharged five-cylinder TFSI engine, the Audi TT RS metes out 360 horsepower, between 5,500 and 6,700 rpm, with its six-speed manual transmission. Along with its exclusive manual transmission, the sports car contains exclusive design elements such as a special-made grille, large front air inlets, a fixed rear-wing spoiler, oval exhausts pipes, a rear diffuser, and 19-inch rotor wheels. The interior also has unique attributes, such as three-spoke steering wheel, interior door handles, and aluminum doorsills with the RS logo.
"The Audi TT RS is not just a beautiful machine inside and out, but a soul-stirring one; the epitome of everything that Audi means to us. It's a perfect tool for driving perfectionists, worthy of a choice parking spot in the dream garage," said Jean Jennings, Automobile Magazine editor-in-chief.
With patented aluminum-and-steel hybrid ASF technology and standard all-wheel drive, the TT RS offers improvements in aerodynamics and safety. For more information, visit AudiUSA.com.
