The Capital Grille Burlington Introduces New Winter Plates Lunch Menu

One of the best lunch deals in town can be found at The Capital Grille in Burlington. Located just up the road from the Burlington Mall and about 20 minutes north of Boston, The Capital Grille Burlington has recently introduced its winter plates lunch menu, which includes a soup or salad, sandwich and side, all for just $16.

Starters include a cup of clam chowder, salad of field greens or roasted pepper soup. Move on to mini tenderloin sandwiches, a lobster roll or Wagyu cheeseburger paired up with a side of French green beans, truffle fries or roasted root vegetables.

We recently visited the Burlington location one busy Friday afternoon for lunch. The entire dining room was filled to capacity with shoppers and business people looking for a quick bite. The hostess seated us in a comfortable table right next to the impressive wine collection, which we could view from the floor-to-ceiling glass windows (The restaurant has more than 5,000 bottles available from all over the world, including France, Italy, Germany, South America and the United States). When offering wines by the glass, our server, Roberto, was very knowledgeable and even advised the different price points, which made our decision to try a glass of the Louis Martini cabernet even more helpful.

Across the room in the open kitchen, chefs were busy preparing entrees like bone-in dry aged sirloins, a roasted half chicken and seared citrus glazed salmon. We decided to try the new Plates Menu and were glad we did. The clam chowder starter was extremely rich and creamy loaded with tender clams and topped with a nice complement of fresh chopped chives.

The Wagyu cheeseburger was one of the best burgers we have ever tried — an enormous juicy patty with a fried egg that oozed yolk over the burger when cut topped with crispy onions. The two mini tenderloin slider sandwiches were just as good and tender. We loved the crisp truffle fries and roasted root vegetables, which complemented our meals perfectly.

While dessert is not included in the Plates Menu offering, be sure to save room for the coconut cream pie (trust us, you’ll be glad you did). The pie was delightfully light with a rich buttery crust and can be paired up with an after-dinner specialty drink like the Hennessey Supreme or Irish coffee for the perfect luncheon.
