When you first step inside The Onyx Hotel, you won’t believe your eyes. The beautiful Boston boutique hotel dazzles with style from the dramatic color of the lobby to the neighboring black and red, sexy Ruby Room restaurant. You won’t find a more chic hotel located just steps from the Garden (where the Bruins and Celtics play) to the neighboring North End.

This luxury property is also conveniently located less than a mile walk to Faneuil Hall. There are restaurants and bars galore that line Portland and Causeway Streets so there is an abundance of things to do right outside your doorstep. When you first pull up to the eco-friendly hotel, a friendly valet attendant will greet and assist you with your bags. As with every Kimpton property, the Onyx is not only pet-friendly but pet-welcoming.

From the moment you arrive with your four-legged friend, he or she will be greeted at the receptionist station with treats from the outgoing staff while you can relax with a complimentary glass of fresh lemon water before checking in. The staff was aware we were traveling with a pet and had the room already set-up with a dog bed and bowls for our furry friend – a nice personalized touch. The hotel also offers dog walking and pet-sitting services available for an additional fee.

This Boston luxury hotel has 112 cozy guestrooms and suites right in the heart of downtown. Our comfortable room featured a king bed with all of the high tech amenities you would expect, including an iHome, flat screen TV, high speed wireless Internet access and cordless telephone with private voicemail and data port. We loved that the in-room safe was designed large enough to accommodate our laptop computer. In keeping with the seductive image of the hotel, each guestroom also features two leopard print robes.

In the afternoon, head downstairs for the hotel’s hosted wine hour in the lobby. Afterwards, venture into the adjacent Ruby Room for one of their classic cocktails. Enjoy your craft beverage with small plates designed to be shared, including pulled pork sliders, crispy calamari, and seared tuna.
