We all know that once Labor Day rolls around it’s time to cool things down here in Boston. And no one knows that better than the folks at Frost Ice Bar, which is making its much anticipated opening today.
Located in Faneuil Hall, Frost Ice Bar is constructed entirely of ice and kept at a chilly 21 degrees Fahrenheit. But don’t let that scare you off - guests are given insulated capes and gloves to stay warm inside. The interior was designed in partnership with Ontario-based Icecultures Inc., with artistic carvings from Brookline Ice Company.
Everything inside the space is made entirely of ice from the hand carved bar, chandelier and sculptures to the cool lounge seating and paintings. We love the Beantown style of Frost with its sculptures of local landmarks and historical figures, including the Swan Boats, The Zakim Memorial Bridge and Paul Revere. While taking it all in, you can sip on cocktails prepared in specialty glasses made of ice. (Non-alcoholic drinks are also served).
Frost Ice Bar is open seven days a week from noon to 11:00 p.m. Tickets are available for purchase online or at the on-premise ticketing kiosk. Entry times are every 15 minutes and the duration of each guest visit is 45 minutes. Tickets prices start at $18.99 for adults and $12.99 for children ages six to 12. Alcoholic drinks are $11 and non-alcoholic are $6. All military, seniors, and students will receive a $2.00 discount with proper identification. Guests under 21 years of age are welcome to visit before 4:15 p.m.; however, children under six are not permitted in the bar.
