Boston Lounges: Although Canal Street in Boston is known for its numerous bars of varying taste, the owners of Boston's popular bar/nightclub, The Grand Canal, have recently made a classier edition to the Canal Street Scene with Busker's Lounge.
The interior boasts a clean contemporary look with impressive hardwood floors and striking matte black furniture that's complimented by the friendly staff. With the dining section occupying the elevated area of the 13-top, split-level lounge, guests overlook the swank bar and pool table while enjoying the fair.
The lounge offers a full menu, including Filet Mignon complete with hearty mashed potatoes and crisp, grilled asparagus. Seafood lovers must try the Grilled Swordfish, which is topped with a brilliant pineapple mango salsa.
However, if you're in the mood for more traditional bar food prevalent in the area, Busker's offers a perfect fried calamari with a spicy aioli sauce, classic spring rolls, and some very satisfying flatbread pizzas. If you're counting calories, try the Mediterranean salad finished with a refreshing house balsamic vinaigrette dressing.
Of course, no establishment on Canal Street would be complete without a favorable beer selection. Busker's offers 24 beers, including both staples like Harp's and local favorites such as Long Hammer IPA. There is also a full list of "signature martinis" for those avoiding the empty calories.
Aside from being a popular place to watch the game on one of 5 huge flat screens, Busker's also serves up a club vibe with local DJ's spinning later in the evening. Casual enough for street wear, but classy enough for a date, Busker's is Canal Street's newest undercover hotspot.
