Boston Things To Do: Founded in 1881 by Henry Lee Higginson, the Boston Symphony Orchestra plays the majority of its concert's in Boston's Symphony Hall and in the summer changes venues and performs at the Tanglewood Music Center. The Boston Symphony Orchestra has played both globally and throughout the United States; it plays an active role in acquiring work from some of today's most musically influential composers.

More than 250 concerts are performed annually by the Boston Symphony Orchestra among other performances by internationally acclaimed musicians.
