Cabo San Lucas Culture: Since their first visit to Los Cabos in 1991, Chris MacClure and Marilyn Hurst have considered the Baja a paradise on earth and eventually in 1997 they decided to make Cabo home. They opened the Los Cabos art gallery called the Golden Cactus Gallery in Cabo San Lucas, Baja, Mexico.
The Gallery began as a studio for Chris but its evolution over the past 12 years has been as remarkable as the growth of Cabo San Lucas itself. Since its inception, the 2nd story gallery has been a beacon to other artists and its success a testimony to the spirit of art. Many of the Baja artists are represented at the gallery.
The Los Cabos artists come from everywhere, Mexico, USA and Canada for now, but the criteria for admittance to this inner circle is that all art be Mexico/Baja related to reflect the Romance of Cabo. We enjoy the personal visits of our clients over the years and look forward to meeting new ones in 2009. Many visitors have graced our doors such as mezzo soprano Frederica Von Stade. Don Prudhomme famous drag racer, actors Eddie Murphy and Peter Strauss, to name a few. |
