Universal Studios Hollywood is a two-fold attraction: there is an amusement park as well as movie studios, both of which are open to the public. The park sits on a hilltop on the edge of Hollywood, and is marked by the famous Universal Studio fountain.
Promising "the ultimate Hollywood experience," Universal Studios offers theme park rides, movie-themed shows, an actual movie studio, and several shops and restaurants (as well as a movie theater, fittingly). If you love film history, check out the Studio Tour filled with interesting details about old Hollywood. The King Kong 360 3-D attraction, which was created by Peter Jackson, is sold as the world's biggest and most intense 3-D experience. Plus, since this is where EXTRA is filmed, there is a good chance you'll see some of your favorite stars being interviewed for the show.
Attractions may change over time, so you should always check their official site to see what's being offered at the time of your visit.
