The Hilton name has long been synonymous with excellence, as is the case with the Hilton owned Conrad Miami in the city's bustling and sophisticated financial district. But it is more than the name that brings satisfaction. Located on the 25th floor lobby level (yes, the lobby is on the 25th floor), is the property’s main restaurant called Atrio Restaurant and Wine Room. Just as the name suggests, there is wine, and lots of it. The restaurant's wine attic features over 200 vintages and can accommodate up to ten guests.
The dining room is equipped with huge floor-to-ceiling windows that offer stunning panoramic views of the city and Biscayne Bay, which happen to be extra impressive at night. Ask to be seated by the window for a remarkable view of a twinkling Miami skyline and the surrounding areas. The minimalistic décor is warm and inviting.
From start to finish, the warm and informative wait staff does not skip a beat. The wine list is extensive and would impress any wine connoisseur. Try the server’s pairing suggestions, as they do not disappoint.
Warm cornbread and a thick-crusted white bread are immediately served with flavorful butters and oil for dipping. The menu itself has a nice variety of all things innovative from appetizers, land items, seafoods, pasta, and of course, always the best reason to dine out: freshly-prepared desserts. The food is an attractive fusion of sorts, served in artistic form with extreme attention to detail in both taste and presentation. The global cuisine is made from locally sourced sustainable fish and produce.
The Crisp Pork Belly is covered in a savory Carbonara sauce, a poached egg and parmesan wafer. Tender on the inside, yet perfectly crisp along the edges, it is divine. The 8-ounce skirt steak was still sizzling upon arrival and was laden with a delicious Adobo Rub that has just the right amount of zing. Paired with the cilantro and tomato rice, your taste buds will dance the night away.
No meal should ever be complete without dessert. The bread pudding could delight even those without a sweet tooth (do those types really exist?). It has the perfect consistency between the warm bread and the cool ice cream, accompanied with a mint leaf to the side. Atrio is open daily and reservations are recommended; attire should be chic with a dash of comfort.
