Milan Culture: The Sforza family castle is just a part of the massive fortress that once stood here, yet the remaining structure has been beautifully restored for the enjoyment of future generations. A dead moat encircles looming towers and the stone walls of the castle, and within it all lays the rectangular Ducal Courtyard around a verdant garden.
On the ground floor is a museum of ancient art, mostly focused on Romanesque and Gothic sculpture. Below ground is a prehistoric museum whose exhibits include relics from the Neolithic, Bronze, and Iron Ages. |
