New Orleans Things To Do: The Natchez Steamboat is the current incarnation of a long line of aquatic vessels named after the Mississippi town. Built in 1975, the steamboat still offers tours of the harbor as well as dinner cruises.
The Natchez is incredibly fast for a steamboat, and has never lost a race even though she is often entered in them. The boat has a paddlewheel made of white oak, and a steam calliope capable of playing 32 different notes.
