After the California ban on foie gras was lifted earlier this month, many restaurants have been wasting no time getting the delicacy back to their tables. Farm-to-table restaurant Kitchen 4140 will be hosting a special event to celebrate the reinstatement of the French dish called the Welcome Back Foie Gras Dinner. The evening will showcase the culinary talent of eleven local chefs during a six-course meal on February 2.

Held in the restaurant’s newly-added private dining room, each course is being kept under tight wraps until the night of the event. They have, however, revealed that every plate, including dessert, will include foie gras. “Chefs in San Diego are incredibly excited to be able to offer foie gras again,” said Chef Kurt Metzger, Owner and Executive Chef of Kitchen 4140. “What better way to simultaneously celebrate foie gras and our community’s culinary scene than gathering together some of the city’s most dedicated chefs and offering this prix fixe dinner?”
