Bosse Sports: Among America’s most luxurious gyms

Luxury Health Clubs: A well-known men’s health publication recently reported that the average yearly cost of an individual membership to a health club is approximately $500. In the same issue of that publication, it reported that Bosse Sports in Massachusetts is among the most expensive gyms with a 12-month membership that costs more than $4,500. This information piqued our curiosity to look into the special benefits members receive; and we were not disappointed.

Bosse Sports is more like a center of luxury-lifestyle management than a place to simply pump iron and do cardio. While there are various appealing alternatives for the regimented fitness purists who prefer to keep it simple, the diverse options Bosse offers its clientele substantiate its status. There is an onsite cafe and concierge services that include a personal chef, a grocery-shopping consultant, an airport shuttle by limo, auto detailing, and an outsourced concierge for even more elaborate services. Additionally, there is an award-winning full-services spa for men and women and an activity center for children and teenagers. However, it is the club’s diverse athletic activities that give it an otherworldly ranking when compared to other gyms.

There is a domed 25,000-square-foot golf-training center with personalized instruction from PGA-level instructors and video equipment. The highly regarded video-learning tool, the V1 Coaching System, analyzes a player’s stroke with infinite detail. There also is a golf simulator on hand that enables players to play 38 top-ranked PGA courses. A driving range and a short-game practice area with putting greens and varied bunkers round out the club’s commitment to excellence.

Bosse also has 10 indoor-tennis courts onsite that have the same playing surface as the courts played on at the Australian Open. Members may compete in various levels of intensity through club-arranged tournaments as well as receive private lessons with customized programs. A 75-foot, no-wake pool is the centerpiece of the aquatics area. Swimming lessons are available at all skill levels, including courses for children. Leaving no stone unturned in pursuit of the ultimate facility, there is a rock-wall for extreme-sports enthusiasts. The builders of the challenging yet safe scalable wall are the same folk who have designed similar rock-climbing simulators for the X-Games™.

Former tennis professional and native of Australia DJ Bosse is the founder of Bosse Sports. The Bosse Foundation, which was founded by Mr. Bosse in 2004, provides financial resources and special training for young and talented tennis players in need of financial support.

The club was cited by Forbes magazine as “one of America’s most luxurious gyms.” A second location in the Nouvelle-Natick, a residential/retail conglomerate, is planned. For more information, visit BosseSports.com.
