Tiffany & Co. Sues Costco After Engagement Ring Scandal

Luxury jewelry brand Tiffany & Co. is reacting after discovering in November that a Huntington Beach Costco store advertised and sold engagement rings that were promoted as Tiffany products. The high-end label filed a lawsuit on Thursday against the wholesaler, which will allow Tiffany to explore whether Costco sold counterfeit rings or actual Tiffany jewelry that had been repackaged. The brand, who only sells its products at Tiffany & Co. stores, argues that its "name and goodwill" were tarnished from the scandal, and is seeking a permanent injunction and damages.... Read More

Isaac Mizrahi Reintroduces Luxury Jewelry to Brand

Luxury designer Isaac Mizrahi has dabbled in the fine jewelry sector of the fashion industry before, but after selling his self-titled label to Xcel Brands, Inc., in 2011, we've seen mostly beauty and garment items that have launched at Bloomingdale's and Nordstom bearing his name. But that's all about to change, as Xcel has just signed an exclusive agreement with Clover Corp. to produce and distribute a high-end jewelry collection under Mizrahi's name. Michael Kors Introduces New Watches to Help Fight Hunger

The luxury fashion world is notorious for being tied to charities, non-profit organizations, and the overall mission to help those in need. Luxury designer Michael Kors is doing his part by launching an exclusive long-term partnership with the United Nations World Food Programme, which aims to help solve the international hunger crisis. Kors' involvement will produce two new unisex watches— a $295 smaller model and a $325 larger version— that will allow for 100 children to be fed through WFP for each watch that is sold.
