InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong's undergoing glam face-lift!

Harbor view king room

Intercontinental

I just returned from a trip to H.K. where I stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms at the Five Star, InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong, and I have to tell you, it's well-worth hearing a few nails being pounded in for these kind of results. (They are still working during the day on the renovations, which should be finished in a few months,  but since I was upgraded to the club-floor level, it really wasn't a problem.) The new lobby is stunning, which might be one of the reasons that the people at the front desk are so welcoming. The rooms are quite generous by Hong Kong standards, and you can't simply can't beat those breathtaking views of Hong Kong's Victoria Harbour. Perfect spot for a Girlfriend Getaway.

Location:

The hotel has a peachy, waterfront location in the heart of Kowloon, walking distance from Hong Kong Museum of History and Hong Kong Science Museum, Nathan Road and Temple Street Night Market. The hotel also offers a complimentary shuttle bus service to the Star Ferry area  and is just minutes away from the MTR underground.

The Rooms:

The 573 luxuriously-appointed rooms and suites offer either a harbor view or overlook the vibrant streets of Tsim Sha Tsui East. The rooms feature all the modern comforts and amenities you would expect from a first class property. Better set the alarm because it's easy to oversleep nestled under their luxurious feather duvets and extra long pillows.

Hotel Highlights:

Dining:

The InterContinental Grand Stanford Hong Kong offers three world-class dining outlets, from Italian to regional Cantonese and international buffet. You'll feel like you've been magically transported to the Italian countryside after trying the authentic handmade pasta at The Mistral, the only restaurant in Hong Kong recognized as a member of the "Buon Ricordo" Italian Restaurant Association.

The Sun Court Pool:

The gorgeous mosaic Sun Court Pool, surrounded with  natural stone flooring and lush landscaping, teak lounge chairs and huge market umbrellas provides a wonderfully tranquil spot to get away from all the city hustle-bustle

The Fitness Center:

The gym was totally fine, with state-of-the-art equipment, equipped with TV's which was perfect for catching up on all the news of the day. Trust me, you'll probably to make a few visits after taking part in the incredible morning breakfast buffet. It was really delish....and full of international surprises...dhal, anyone?)But what I really enjoyed was the scenic jogging/walking path, right across the street, alongside the harbor.

Club InterContinental®

This was, by far, my favorite place to hang....and so worth the extra charge. The staff here was exceptional and could not have been more helpful or hospitable. It was such a pleasure to pop in throughout the day: early for a quiet breakfast and a quick look at the newspaper, afternoon tea & sweeties, evening champagne and canapes, or just to check emails on the complimentary computers.

Be sure and check out the website for some great deals.
