Vogue Video: The Biggest Names in Modeling Land the Coveted September Cover

Joan. Karlie. Cara. These ladies really need no introduction as their over eight million Instagram followers will attest. Vogue chose supermodels over any celebrities for their massive 856-page September issue, pushing models back to the forefront of fashion. Giving them the appropriate nickname of Instagirls, Vogue selected these three to grace the cover, with a pull-out insert that includes other famous names like Arizona Muse, Edie Campbell, Imaan Hammam, Fei Fei Sun, Vanessa Axente, and Andreea Diaconu. These women are being celebrated for creating a name for themselves and marketing themselves worldwide via social media.

In their Vogue video, which shows the girls running around in nothing but bathrobes, they act pretty normal, just playing around and giving awkward Instagram tips (“I bite my fingers all the time in photos” explains Kloss). Offering up different supermodel looks to try for your own selfies include the over-the-shoulder, hair-flip, eyebrow lift, shy look,  kiss-face and some sort of pout-sucky-lippy-thing. And while all of them associate the term supermodel with the greats like Christy Turlington and Naomi Campbell, they also agree supermodel is akin to Superwoman—sans cape of course. But for being supermodels—or rather Instagirls of our time—the big question is, can they vogue? You’ll have to watch to find out.
