Much has changed in the land of gaming and most of these fine family eateries were gobbled up by the giant conglomerates who brought in world-renowned chefs to beef up the dining scene. One mighty clan held fast and furious to its reputation and today exists as the longest-running, single-family fine dining restaurant in Las Vegas. And that is Ferraro's Restaurant & Wine Bar.
The Ferraro tradition of excellent food served with class, style and family pride is alive and thriving even in the face of the never-ending hype about the latest new celebrity spot on the Vegas dining scene. No small feat for team Ferraro who will greet you warmly and make sure that you feel like family. As you walk in, on your left, you encounter an intimate, supper-club setting bathed in shades of red where the bar and live music entertain nightly. To your right, one of several cozy dining areas sits with plenty of space between tables. This is a restaurant where the food, not the background acoustics, takes center stage.
Of course, the proof is in the tasting. Lunch is probably the best value in the city and dinner is a fine dining feast. Along with some of the most delicious Italian food around, the wine list, steeped in great Italian vintages, is a rare treat for the connoisseur. Chef Mimmo Ferraro is always in house, either in the kitchen or greeting guests to be sure that his signature dishes will be consistently served to his specifications.
His eclectic Italian menu runs the gamut of regional Italian styles and includes all the classics plus the chef's signature dishes including: Oven-Roasted Dover Sole Picata; Lobster and Asparagus-filled Ravioli; Champagne Risotto with Fresh Black Summer Truffles; and hand-rolled Carpaccio di Manzo, thinly sliced beef, arugula salad, shaved parmesan and truffle oil. His Osso Buco is superb, but be sure to save room for his Nutella crepes.
When you observe satisfied customers, many of whom are loyal repeat guests hugging and kissing Chef Mimmo in appreciation for a wonderful meal, you know you are in good hands. Treat yourself to a Las Vegas tradition and enjoy the food and hospitality of Ferraro’s.
