Insider: Dave Matthews is tireless. After two sold out shows at the MGM Grand mid-May, he stopped by the cushy Studio at the Palms to play around with some tracks.
The tireless artist ran into Sacramento Kings owner (brother to Palms Casino Resort owner George Maloof) Gavin Maloof, who was carrying a gorgeous Gibson Les Paul. Maloof asked Matthews, who immediately began playing the guitar, to sign it for a contest during this year's Maloof Money Cup in California.
Matthews was game until, after strumming a bit, he fell in love with it. He asked if he could buy it from Gavin, but Gavin, who was so impressed with Matthews quick fingers, gave it to the singer as a gift.
