Just in time for the holidays and for those who love uniquely British gifts and goods, The New Craftsmen, which will be located in Mayfair across from the Connaught Hotel, will hold a two week Christmas preview. In the making since 2010, The New Craftsmen features a collection of beautifully made home goods, ranging from hand-stitched pillows and carved ladles, to gold-plated scissors and silver wine goblets. For a limited time only the pop-up store in the heart of London’s Mayfair will allow shoppers and preview at The New Craftsmen’s lovely wares before their official launch in 2013.
In addition to home goods, The New Craftsmen also features jewelry and design accessories. All of the pieces found within the store reflect the culture and heritage of the British Isles. Behind the scenes, the creative forces behind the budding brand have scoured the country looking for beautifully hand-crafted goods that reflect both old world care and modern practicality. Customers will also have the opportunity to watch makers on the ground floor of the 4-story townhouse the pop-up will occupy, as they demonstrate their craft.
The New Craftman’s vision of luxury is “sustainable, intelligent, and functional—never flashy or overstated.” The pop-up will also debut the collaboration between the store and renowned furniture designer Gareth Neal as well as Kevin Gauld of the Orkney Furniture Company. Reimaging the traditional form of the Orkney chair, Gauld and Neal will attend the preview, designing their vision onsite in Mayfair. The permanent home for The New Craftsman is planned for Summer 2013.
