Where two pillars of American commerce once stood is now a sombering place to reflect on the lives lost during the events of Sept. 11, 2001. The 9/11 Memorial honors the 2,983 people who were killed in the horrific attacks. The memorial design centers around two reflecting pools formed in the shadow of what used to be the original Twin Towers.
The museum uses intimate artifacts, like videos, audio, photos, and personal memorabilia to tell the story of loss, compassion and recovery the nation experience during and after the tragic events of 2001 and 1993.
