Carmel's Aubergine Restaurant Now Offering Gourmet Cooking Classes

If you've ever wanted to learn how to cook like a professional chef, Aubergine restaurant at L'Auberge Carmel in Carmel, California is giving foodies and amateurs a glimpse into the kitchen with their new "In the Aubergine Kitchen" hands-on classes taught by Chef de Cuisine Justin Cogley and Executive Pastry Chef Ron Mendoza.

Limited to 10 people, participants will work in the kitchen of Aubergine directly with the chef as he walks the class through professional culinary techniques, classic recipes and new twists as well as new flavors to take home with you. Plus, you get to make new friends and learn more about food.

  • April 21 - Macarons Not Macaroons - Ron Mendoza
  • May 18 - All About the Egg- Justin Cogley
  • May 19 - All About the Eggwhite-Meringues & Souffles - Ron Mendoza
  • June 22 - Out of the Garden - Justin Cogley
  • June 23 - Uses of Mousses - Ron Mendoza
  • September 21 - Sauce Boot Camp - Justin Cogley
  • September 22 - Pate a Choux & You - Ron Mendoza
  • October 19 - Working with Shellfish - Justin Cogley
  • October 20 - Proof is in the Pudding - Ron Mendoza
  • November 16 - Wonderful World of Tubers - Justin Cogley
  • November 17 - The Great Crepe Escape - Ron Mendoza

    The cost is $100 per person, plus tax and service fee and overnight accommodations at L'Auberge Carmel may be booked at a special seasonal cooking class rate that includes breakfast. For more information and reservations, call 831-622-5909.
