We happily, and eagerly, returned to our Pacific playground in November to take advantage of the warm weather, clear skies, blue ocean and everything else that Maui offers. And it offers A LOT.

Now a member of Outrigger Hotels, Resorts and Condominiums, the Kapalua Villas property is merits serious consideration if you're going to be a guest on Maui and want all of the above. We stayed in Villa 34G4, which opens with a special security code (no key needed), which in itself was a great convenience. Our villa offered a full kitchen with all the amenities plus a handsome and roomy living/dining area.

The one-, two-, and three-bedroom condominiums that range from 1,200 to 1,400 square feet feature full kitchens, washers/dryers, air conditioning and daily housekeeping service. The Premium Gold Villas offer newly remodeled kitchens and baths, granite countertops, updated furnishings, flat-screen TVs, robes and slippers, nightly turndown service and a welcome amenity.
If you need more than that, then consider the three-, four- and five-bedroom luxury homes within the resort; these measure from 3,600 to 5,700 square feet. These luxuriously appointed estate homes are located in a private, gated community each with their own pool, large chef kitchens and multiple entertaining areas.

Just take the spa, for instance. In this 30,000-square-foot facility, you'll find Hawaiian and water therapy treatments; body therapies such as seaweed wraps and banana-ti-leaf masque; a wealth of massage therapies; all kinds of skin therapies; plus beauty salon services including manicures. Other than the 19 treatment rooms, the women's area, for example, includes a Jacuzzi; cold rain shower; sauna, steam room with complimentary Molokai sea salt so you can perform your own exfoliation; and outdoor infinity pool.

For golfers, the Plantation Course beckons, which Golf Magazine in 2008, rated the Number One Golf Course in Hawaii. Players are drawn by tranquil views of Molokai when they play on this par-73, 7,411-yard course. This course is home of the winners-only PGA Tour season-opening event. The grand scale of the course, designed by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw, unfurls across natural geographic formations and pineapple fields.

Don't forget going to the beach; afterall you're in Hawaii. Three beautiful white-sand beaches beckon, including two that have been designated as "America's Best Beaches" - Kapalua Bay and D. T. Fleming beach. These are havens for snorkeling, scuba diving, surfing and kayaking. Now go and hang ten!
