Elephants, Glamping and Al Fresco Spa Treatments in Thailand

Mena, a 35-year-old Indian elephant that was rescued from a Thai logging camp 10 years ago, was my ride for the afternoon. We waded into the Ruak River as my mahout (elephant trainer) barked his orders for her to turn, stop and sit down. The water was cold but we couldn’t care less, as we were having the most memorable experiences of our lives riding these amazing animals.This excursion is only part of what makes a stay at the Four Seasons Golden Triangle so great.

The Emirates Palace is among the most expensive hotels in the world with a price tag of over $4.25 billion. Opened in 2005, it took 20,000 artisans three years to complete the project which is owned by the Abu Dhabi government (Royal Family) and managed by the Kempinski hotel chain. It was destined to become one of the world’s best hotels. Paris has the Ritz, New York has the Plaza and the Middle East has the Emirates Palace.

Oman's Al Bustan Palace is Charmingly Traditional & Tastefully Opulent

Cradled between the majestic Al Hajar Mountains and the blue waters of the Sea of Oman, Al Bustan Palace in Muscat, Oman is regarded as one of the top five-star hotels in the world. Even from afar, the property is impressive with its ornate exterior of Arabic geometric patterns. The property was originally developed by His Majesty Sultan Qaboos in order to accommodate visiting heads of state. It was subsequently renovated and then managed by the Ritz-Carlton.

The SLS South Beach: Miami's Most Seductive Hotel

There is a sexy crowd of models, business moguls, and artsy types gathering at Hyde Beach, Miami’s place to see and be seen in the SLS Miami Beach. The centerpiece of this orgy of colors, patterns, and sculpture is a 12-foot silver duck, reminiscent of the yellow ones found in baths. Anywhere else in the world it would be completely out of place, but not here. This is the SLS South Beach and this scene was created by one of the most renowned designers Philippe Starck.
