It’s nearly time for the prestigious Chelsea Flower Show – and what better way to celebrate than with a summertime cocktail?
Tom and Ed Martin’s flagship bar and restaurant, The Botanist on Sloane Square, will be in full bloom between May 24 and 28 as they create floral-inspired drinks to celebrate the Royal Horticultural Society’s annual event.
Named after Sir Hans Sloane, pioneering naturalist and Chelsea Physic Garden benefactor, The Botanist is the ideal place to pair with a trip to this year’s event.
Boasting an enviable location, the stylish venue’s creative cocktails will also be honoring the area’s alternative floral art show – Sloane in Bloom. After a day of browsing the exclusive floral displays, settle in at the striking bar and treat yourself to cocktails, courtesy of Paulo Brammer, chief mixologist.
Enjoy a Dusty Rose (£8.80) – homemade white rose syrup and fresh pink grapefruit with Pinky vodka and a splash of fresh lime juice or a Lavender Bloom (£9.80) – fresh aromatic lavender muddled with honey and Apricot du Roussillon liqueur, charged with Joseph Perrier Champagne.
To accompany your refreshing cocktail choose from a range of complementary quintessentially English dishes from the bar menu including a H. Forman and Son’s London cure Scottish smoked salmon platter with lemon and brown bread; or a cheese board selection served with chutney and oatcakes.
Alternatively, indulge in The Botanist’s acclaimed afternoon tea of assorted finger sandwiches, homemade scones and a selection of sweets and cakes.
